After a great start to the season in France, Ireland and England, Team Jolokia will now set sail in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. From Toulon, to Alicante, and on to Malta, it will be a fantastic tour for the team.
Sailing with the Navy in Toulon
Our VO’60 left Lorient last Saturday for Toulon, where the crew will welcome Navy personnel on board as faithful partners of the team. They’ll spend a week getting to know more about Team Jolokia, sailing together from Toulon to Cannes.
Team Jolokia at the Volvo Ocean Race village
The Volvo Ocean Race, formerly the Whitbread round-the-world, is a ten stage circumnavigation race for teams. Over nine months, seven teams will travel the globe, each aboard a VO’65, an extreme craft for extreme conditions. The race starts in Alicante on October 11 and Team Jolokia will be on the water to watch the show. Our own VO’60 took part in this legendary race in 2001, under the name Djuice Dragons.

The Middle Sea Race – finishing with a flourish!
The Middle Sea Race is the Mediterranean equivalent of the Fastnet, with large racing yachts in competition, for the most part crewed by professionals. The start and finish are in Malta, and the race is a loop around Sicily, taking between four and five days. A legendary event in a beautiful setting — it’s all set to be a great way to end the 2014 season!
